BattleTech: Shrapnel Issue 19

LOOK BEFORE YOU LEAP!

Shrapnel: The Official BattleTech Magazine is your survival guide through the explosive minefields and incoming missile salvos in pulse-pounding tales of BattleMech combat on the battlefields of the 31st century and beyond!

Facing a technologically superior opponent, two mercenaries who hate each other’s guts must either work together or die alone. After suffering a bitter defeat, a contingent of Spirit Cats seeks to atone for their failure by retrieving a ’Mech of vital importance to their people, by any means necessary. Former Exarch Damien Redburn offers a MechWarrior from the isolated Republic Remnant the opportunity to strike back at the enemy who humbled her, but will her shot at vengeance be worth the cost?

In this issue, you’ll go to the Southwest Trinity Worlds, where a bandit raid forces a ’Mech technician into the pilot seat to protect the rest of her unit. You’ll wander the forests on the tree-choked planet of Sherwood, where a young lumberjack dreams of victory in arena combat at the controls of his ForestryMech. And in the Deep Periphery, you’ll visit Eden, where two former Star League MechWarriors who retired to farm life find themselves caught in the crossfire of the Pentagon Civil War.

Eden Lost:

In the Pentagon Worlds of Clan Space; Zavier and Lei Pickett of the SLDF have laid down their weapons and taken up a peaceful life of farming.  However not all is right in paradise as the old ways are hard to give up and the Picketts find themselves constantly besieged by Capellan separatists.  The gangs constantly harass Zavier while trying to recruit Lei to their cause.

When General DeChavilier is later killed by the separatist gangs and the Great Father himself passes away from a heart attack, the peaceful life that the Picketts once dreamed of is torn from them forever.  They then have to decide if it is better for them to stay and fight for their little scrap of land, or place their faith with the untested leadership of the Great Father’s son to go on yet another Exodus into the stars.
